Babylon
New Batch Of Pastry Perfectionists
|
The
exclusive Babylon restaurant at the Roof Gardens in Kensington
recently revealed two new additions to its elite kitchen team, expert
pastry chefs, Richard Jones and Boyne Pead. This highly skilled duo
is working closely with head chef Oliver Smith, to ensure that
Babylon continues to offer its patrons some of the most delicious
gastronomic creations in London.
Since their
recent arrival in the kitchen, demand for Babylon's delicious
desserts has doubled. Diners are being tempted by indulgencies such
as Chocolate Sundae with chocolate sauce and classics such as Banana
Split. Particularly popular is their signature dish, the 'Babylon
Sharing Dessert Selection.' This platter of puddings offers patrons
the chance to taste much of the dessert menu, but in miniature.
Included in the platter are a pavlova, a white chocolate panacotta
with mango compote, a strawberry crème brulee with hazelnut
shortbread, and honey nougat parfait with a brandy snap wafer.
Richard Jones,
whose career experience includes serving at establishments such at
the Wolseley and the Marriott Grosvenor Square said: "For me,
the essence of perfection is a dessert that is well made, full of
flavour and looks good on the plate. But also important, is that the
dish is simple and honest. A good dessert should be both fun and comforting."
Boyne Pead,
whose previous international kitchen residences include Hillstone,
St. Lucia, The Club House, St. Lucia and the Eclipse Café in
New South Wales said: "Despite training to be a regular chef, I
always felt a passion for pastry, so I made the switch. Since Richard
and I joined forces at Babylon, the feedback from diners has been
fantastic, and we seem to be attracting a lot of attention for our
work. Long may it continue!"
Kirsten Falk,
General Manager of The Roof Gardens says: "It's all about
'wowing' our guests in Babylon, in both our service and our food, and
the desserts Richard and Boyne create have definitely become a
talking point with our patrons. I'm always amazed when I see their
new creations each week. I eat one of their dessert creations every
day to 'ensure' they are always of the highest standard. I can
promise this is no chore, especially when it comes to sampling the
delicious Chocolate Sundae!"
As well as
tantalising dishes, Babylon's clientele also enjoy a sky line
panorama of London, and can choose to eat either inside the
beautifully designed restaurant, or go 'alfresco', by eating on the
coveted south-facing terrace. The terrace enjoys stunning views over
The Roof Gardens as well as views across London, spanning from Canary
Wharf in the east, all the way to Chiswick in the west.
