Boss Raj Turns Movie Star
A legendary
curry house boss has landed a starring role in Scotland's first
Bollywood movie.
Raj Bajwe, 42,
winner of BIBA Front of House Personality 2006, plays himself in
Nina's Heavenly Delights, a big-budget film - starring Living
Daylights and True Lies star Art Malik - about an Indian family in Glasgow. |
In the movie,
Raj vies with the main character, Nina Shah, - played by Shelley Conn
- to win a "best of the West" curry house competition.
Raj has
entertained a string of celebrities at his award-winning Cafe India
in Glasgow. He said: "The star of the film is the food and
everyone loves Indian food.
"I have
played walk-on roles in the past but this is my biggest role to date.
It's certainly harder than frying up a chicken rogan josh."
The movie -
out next month - was filmed in Port Glasgow, Inverclyde.
