Mooli's Brings Its Moveable Feasts To 50 Frith Street, Soho Where Old Delhi Meets Tokyo

Mooli /'mu:li/ n. 1. warm flavoursome fillings, zesty salsas, vibrant chutneys & crunchy salad, all rolled in a fresh homemade roti.

Mooli's is the latest edition to the thriving Soho food scene. Located on the trendy Frith Street, Mooli's brings a new concept in dining, serving fresh and zingy authentic Indian street food with a new spin (and it's exceptional value for money).

Perfect for on-the-go or dine-in, Mooli's is set to change the way you think about Indian cuisine. With a chic interior design, delicious mooli's*, freshly made Mango Lassis (with a hint of ginger), creamy kulfis and Lychee Mojito's (divinely refreshing), it's the new hippest place in Soho to kick back and soak up your surroundings.

What is a mooli?

Mooli's are warm flavoursome fillings, zesty salsas, vibrant chutneys & crunchy salads all rolled in a fresh homemade roti. The wholesome fillings have been created by former Benares Chef, Raju Rawat, and are made using dry roasted spices and carefully sourced ingredients; they include Keralan Beef, Goan Pork, Chicken & Apple, Asparagus & Cumin Potatoes and Scrambled Paneer.

Each mooli comes with its own carefully chosen chutney. Founders Sam and Mathew have spent months perfecting these with Raju so that every mooli has the ideal burst of fresh flavour.

Mooli's chutneys are prepared with ingredients well known for their aroma, flavour and therapeutic properties. They include coriander, mint, tomato, tamarind, ginger, fennel, nigella seeds, mustard seeds, cumin, black pepper and chillies.

For those who love the fiery kick of green chilli, there is the option to GO GREEN.

Bread baked freshly each morning at 50 Frith Street

Moolita bakes fresh Indian bread each morning at 50 Frith Street to ensure the most delicious flavour sensation. Just bread. No E22. No E282. No Gum. There's a long (interesting) story behind this**&ldots;

Mooli's for free

Throughout the month of December, Mooli's will be offering a different 'group' a free Mooli every day. The lucky demographic will be announced daily on the Mooli's blog (www.moolis.blogspot.com) and twitterfeed (www.twitter.com/moolis). So far, Germans (to celebrate the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall), gentlemen with moustaches (supporting 'Mo'vember) and customers with yellow scarves have all benefited from a free Mooli.

Mooli's for Chess

On sunny afternoons, customers have the chance to play blitz chess with Sam, and win a free mooli. Mooli's was founded by Sam Singh; a former management consultant, and Mathew Chandy; a former city lawyer. Sam and Mathew teamed up with head chef Raju Rawat, who was formerly at Benares, a Michelin starred restaurant in Mayfair.

Sam and Mathew both grew up in India. After spending many years in the UK, the desire to eat fresh delicious Indian on-the-go food led them to quit their jobs at BCG and UBS respectively, to start Mooli's. It took many months of travelling around India looking for the best recipes (from the kitchens of a Nawab in Lucknow to the streets of Calcutta and Old Delhi to the heart of Goa to Mathew's family home in Kerala), playing online poker to pay the rent (well, at least Sam did that), selling and testing Mooli's at the Sunday Upmarket and countless tasting sessions. But Mooli's are now ready to bring divine street cuisine to Soho.
