UK PREMIERE OF FOOD NETWORK; THE ENTERTAINMENT CHANNEL WITH MORE ON ITS PLATE

Sky, channel 262 & +1 channel 263

Launched in the UK at 10.00am on 9 November 2009, Food Network is an exciting entertainment channel set to tantalise taste buds across the country!

Food Network, one of the most popular networks on US television, is soon to launch onto UK shores. Blending credible cooking with high energy entertainment, the channel provides its audience with a combination that will inspire foodies and non-foodies alike.

Food Network celebrates everything to do with cooking, from choosing the ingredients to the challenge of trying out a brand-new dish. It also adds a dash of competition to the recipe for more intrigue. As a 24/7 channel, its rebellious attitude is truly unique. Food is there to be played with, to have fun with and to be enjoyed.

Tasty British chef Danny Boome features on the channel in his very own show, Rescue Chef. Originally from Cambridgeshire, former ice hockey star and ex-model Boome has been a massive hit in the US and is sure to have the UK's women desperate to get back in the kitchen.

Boome made a name for himself at the trendy St Martins Lane Hotel, London, in the Asia de Cuba restaurant before appearing as a television chef. Other home-grown celebrity chefs also make an appearance, including Jamie Oliver in the UK Premiere of Iron Chef America and Nigella Lawson in Nigella Express.

Celebrity chefs from the U.S. also feature regularly on the channel and include Ina Garten, with her already well-loved show Barefoot Contessa, Tyler Florence, Giada De Laurentiis and Rachael Ray.
