Marking the
first step in a major commitment in the T.G.I. Friday's brand in the
United Kingdom, Carlson Restaurants Worldwide, parent company of
T.G.I. Friday's restaurants, in partnership with ABN AMRO Capital,
today announced the completion of the acquisition of T.G.I. Friday's
restaurants in the UK.
"This is
a very exciting time for T.G.I. Friday's and we look forward to
building on the terrific heritage that has already been established
in the UK," said Richard Snead, president and chief executive
officer of Carlson Restaurants Worldwide. "The first
international T.G.I. Friday's restaurant opened in Birmingham,
England nearly 21 years ago. This acquisition demonstrates our
commitment to extend Friday's global leadership in the casual dining
category."
