The Height Of Fashion For 25 Years

On an unusually warm April night last week friends old and new of the famous Bombay Brasserie gathered in London to celebrate 25 years at the very top of the industry.

It was a night of bussling good fun, laughter, high fashion and one or two damp eyes as memories were revived.

The almost legendary Adi Modi described how Micky Most had been such a fan of the BB that he had insisted on a visit just three days before dying of cancer but that his widow was at the celebration to maintain the link.

Adi had personally invited people and families who stood out in his memory as friends of the BB over the years so there was plenty of "we haven't seen you for three years" and "wonderful to see you again after all this time".

As always the kitchen team stepped up to the mark with a wonderful buffet boasting some exemplary spicing with the Lamb Shank Nihari, the Lucknow Raan Biryani and the Cauliflower Fenugreek Green Peas as the stars. The excitement reached fever pitch as the specially created fashion show saw exotic Asian models glide amongst the diners displaying their latest creations.

It was a really emotional night to celebrate 25 years of a culinary institution. They have served London and Indian food well over the years and long may it continue.
