The
London International Wine Fair which will take place in the ExCeL
exhibition centre, in London, from 12th to 14th May 2009 will, for
the first time, host winemakers from Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina,
Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Serbia. They will join
producers from Slovenia, Romania and Bulgaria already attending this
annual international meeting.
Love for great cuisine,
viticulture and "savoir-vivre" are common values shared by
countries of the Balkan Peninsula, so the next step for local
winemakers is to present their products to a broad British and
international audience during the next fair in the capital of the UK.
As part of the Croatian display,
you will see some local marvels like wines from the Zlatan Otok
("Golden Island") house, a Hvar Island based winery, a
selection of products from the national flagship BADEL 1862, but also
a set of wines from the association of winemakers of Istria (the
western Croatian peninsula), or from the Izvor Zivota ("Spring
of Life") company located in the small town of Ilok, close to
Vukovar.
The Bosnian exhibition will
include key local houses like Hercegovina Produkt, Vukoje, Andrija,
Citluk, Domanovic and Bobita. They will be sponsored by the Chamber
of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Apart the famous Macedonian
company Tikves, which has made a yearly attendance its motto, the
Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia will be represented by four
more houses: Delvina, Skovin, Popova Kula, and the important producer
Bovin Dooel from the city of Negotino.
The selection of wine products
from Serbia will be promoted by the British supplier
Ivanovic&McHardy. They will have the privilege to present the
finest local wines, like the major Rubin Company, as well as houses
Aleksandrovic, Jelic, Radovanovic, Jovic and Do Kraja Sveta ("To
the Ends of the World").
The London International Wine
fair is a Brintex Events company annual wine trade event. The 2009
edition will be held from 12th to 14th May at the ExCeL compounds,
London, UK. This international meeting welcomes more than 1300
exhibitors and some 15 000 professional visitors each year.
