Spaghetti House Opens
At Westfield London

Spaghetti House Restaurant Group launches a new venue this April at Westfield London, the capital's ultimate shopping destination in W12. The new 168 seat restaurant is located in the Loft, directly above the bustling communal dining area known as the Balcony, and overlooking the Atrium, which is the heart of Westfield London.

Stefana Lavarini, daughter of Spaghetti House co-founder Simone Lavarini, has influenced the 'contemporary retro' style of the restaurant, which shows how the group continues to evolve whilst remaining true to its roots, reflecting classic Italian style and detail. 'Resisting the appeal of trends means getting to the heart of our business, and we took inspiration from the first restaurant which opened in Goodge Street, W1, to create an interior that is sleek and contemporary, but which also shows our heritage' she says.

Breathing freshness into the original concept, an eye-catching high seating counter enhances the entrance, leading into the main restaurant with its impressive temperature controlled wine display. There is a striking combination of red leather banquettes, booth seating, dining tables and poser tables in the different dining areas. Theatre comes from the open kitchen with its flame fired pizza oven, positioned at the rear of the restaurant and reminiscent of the open kitchens which, 50 years ago, where seen as 'revolutionary' at the Goodge Street branch. Ceramic textures and light wood floor finishes, rich colours and iconic Italian images capture the essence of true Italian urban style.

In addition to the restaurant, the Loft Terrace to the front and outside the main dining area provides an al-fresco style of dining, where shoppers, cinema goers and local residents can experience the appeal of an informal, authentic family-run ristorante/pizzeria. Families and children are made especially welcome with the 'Menu per Bambini', which, in true Italian style, encourages children to develop their own taste and eating experience by offering selected dishes from the main menu but in smaller portions.

New is 'La pasta per gli amici', a large bowl of penne Bolognese from £24 for four people, which brings a slice of real Italian life to Westfield London, making sharing good food an affordable, fun experience. Other new sharing dishes for a light meal or for informal dining include Schiacciata al pomodoro e origano - tomato, garlic and oregano pizza bread at £5.95 and Antipasto della casa - Parma ham, coppa, salame felino & cotto, artichokes & sundried tomatoes from £6.95.

The classic made-to-order pasta dishes and stone-baked pizzas sit alongside new regional specialities, inspired by the chefs' recent workshop in Le Marche region of central Italy with chef Franco Taruschio from the famed Walnut Tree restaurant. For a taste of the region, go for Olive ascolane - meat stuffed olives and Inizimino di ceci - marinated chickpeas, garlic and parsley, both at £2.95. Also try the Crocchette di granchio - piquant fresh crab cakes with mixed leaf salad at £8.50, and tuck into Scottadita d'agnello ai carciofi e limone - grilled lamb cutlets and marinated lemon artichokes at £13.95.

The authentic Italian menu, complemented by a notable selection of Italian wines, showcases modern Italian dishes, classics and home-made favourites. Dishes are prepared using fresh ingredients, many of which are sourced specially from Italy, under the culinary guidance of group head chef Marco Giordano.
