Voujon Indian and
Bengali Restaurant
A modern passage to traditional India

107 Newington Road, Edinburgh EH9 1QW Tel: 0131 667 5046

Voujon is a chic and stylish passage to India serving traditional Asian cuisine in a modern Scottish environment. Traditional Indian food is served in contemporary surroundings complete with crisp linen clad tables, modern wood interiors, designer crockery and the menu is a fusion of traditional Bengali recipes with influences from both East and West.

The menu features a number of vegetarian, meat and fish dishes including dhal puri deep-fried pancakes, Akbori fish and lamb methi gost with fenugreek, herbs and spices. Set dinner menus can be arranged for tables of two - who can enjoy a spring chicken with all the trimmings (£39.95 for two) - or a table of four can order a whole leg of lamb as part of a Viceroy's Feast (£79.95 for four). A wine list has been carefully selected to compliment spicy food.

Voujon also creates excellent homemade desserts, including Kulfi - frozen milk with almonds - or fresh mangoes.

Voujon is unique in its attempt to keep traditional Indian and Bengali traditions alive in a modern Scottish environment. Handy cook evenings are held throughout the year where a specially created menu is cooked in the traditional way by female members of owner Selim Miah's family (traditionally what would happen in the home).
