Eastern
Eye Asian Business Awards 2006 |
The Eastern
Eye Asian Business Awards celebrates its 10th successful ceremony as
indisputably the most established Asian event on the British business
calendar. As well as being recognised internationally, the event has
evolved from an annual business awards ceremony to establishing
itself as an affluent institution. On Wednesday 19th April at The
Grosvenor House Hotel, London will bear witness to congratulating the
movers and shakers of UK Asian enterprise and their businesses, which
play a significant role in contributing to the nation's economy and wealth.
Eastern Eye,
Britain's biggest selling Asian newspaper, will host this prestigious
award ceremony, honouring British Asian moguls and inspiring their
predecessors to create new and innovative business paths. Currently
Asian businesses contribute an average turnover of £60 billion
annually to London's economy alone, which by far supersedes the Asian
population ratio and underlines the entrepreneurial strength of the
Asian market.
More than 1000
VIPs and celebrity guests anticipate attending this event consisting
of a host of Britain's richest Asians, such as Lakshmi Mittal, The
Hinduja's, Mike Jatania and Lord Swaraj Paul. A wealth of A-list
mainstream, British Asian and international talent, entertainment
stars, public figures, MPs and millionaires will also sashay down the
red carpet for the expectant media.
The evening
will emulate elegance as it opens with a lavish VIP champagne
reception, followed by a plethora of world-class international acts
and dance fusions performing throughout a gourmet five course meal.
Sensational chart topping icons, Liberty X will perform their latest
hits that will guarantee the evening reaching a penultimate
entertainment high.
Six awards
will be announced covering, Young Achiever of the Year, Newcomer of
the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Innovation Award, Community Award
and the most coveted award, Businessman of the Year.
Each year the
ceremony is presented by leading public figures and this momentous
year is no exception with main anchor for Sky News, Lisa Aziz and
Channel Four news journalist, Krishnan Guru-Murthry. Previous hosts
have included television star and prolific writer Meera Syal, award-winning
broadcaster and controversial journalist Martin Bashir, Shiulie
Ghosh, and Laila Rouass.
Ambassadors
and guests of honour who have attended throughout the Eastern Eye
Asian Business Awards' 10 year history have included HRH The Prince
of Wales, HRH Prince Michael of Kent, HRH Princess Royal, The Rt. Hon
Tony Blair PM, Cherie Booth QC, William Hague MP and Michael Portillo MP.
The event
coincides with the release of Success Magazine, which highlights some
of the success stories as well providing an up-to-date audit of Asian wealth.
