Massala, Cobham's leading and upmarket Indian restaurant raised a
whopping £7,635 at a gala charity night on Monday 12th April, in
aid of The Shooting Star Children's Hospice.
Held in conjunction with Radio Jackie 107.8, over 70 guests enjoyed a
feast prepared by the restaurant's talented chefs Sunil Sinha and
Pradeep Asawa, while the radio station's DJ's, including such names
as Mick Brown, Steve Mowbray and Neil Long served the food and drink.
The evening's proceedings, which included an auction and a raffle,
were also hosted by the DJ's as guests tucked into a gourmet platter
of Massala's starters and mains featuring such Massala favourite's as
saffron chicken korma, lamb rogan josh and paneer mirch masala.
"We could not have asked for a better event," said John
Szepietowski, spokesperson for Massala, who contributed a generous
amount himself, "and to think that it was all in a good cause.
Our guests were very generous and to have raised such a huge amount
in one evening is just amazing. The whole radio Jackie team worked
very hard and their efforts went well-rewarded for the hospice."
The Shooting Star Children's Hospice provides care, support and
advice for children and young people with life-limiting conditions
and their families. These care services are offered free of charge
throughout the year in West London and North Surrey.
