ZEINA FOODS IS FULL OF MIDDLE EASTERN PROMISE

Family run Zeina Foods Ltd is celebrating after achieving record breaking sales with Zeina Love Our Foods boxes of handmade Syrian pastries, which were introduced to the company's extensive range of Middle Eastern products last year.

With a 12 month shelf life, these mouth-watering pastries from Zeina Foods have taken the UK market by storm and have been flying off the shelves in wholesalers, retailers and specialist food shops across the country.

Presented in enticing 200g and 850g boxes, each tempting pack contains five varieties, which include cashew assieh (crushed cashew nuts sandwiched between layers of fine vermicelli pastry), pistachio ashelbolbol (a sweet pastry nest filled with Syrian pistachio kernels), pistachio baklava (crushed pistachios sandwiched between layers of syrupy pastry), pistachio ballorieh (a thick pistachio sandwich with fine vermicelli pastry layers) and cashew fingers (small finely wound rolls of pastry filled with ground cashew nuts).

Zeina Foods spotted that there was a market in the UK for the Syrian sweet and delicate morsels, which are traditionally made using only the finest ingredients in the Syrian capital of Damascus, a city renowned for its Baklava.

Product development trials are already underway at Zeina Foods to expand this hugely successful range of Middle Eastern pastries. The company's new product development team is currently researching ways to add a Zeina Foods twist to other traditional Syrian delicacies.

Zeina Foods new product development technologist Victoria Ali commented: "Feedback has been outstanding - we have been receiving glowing reviews about our ability to retain the authentic sweetness and texture of these pastries.

"These products have been a huge success with our customers and are continuing to grow in popularity. Zeina Foods is now working hard on its next Middle Eastern offering and are confident that it will be another popular addition to our current range."

Zeina Foods has been supplying the market with innovative products for over 27 years and is a recognised leader in the supply of specialist products including specialty nuts, seeds, dried fruits and chocolate products.
