The
annual Thai Festival came once again to a colourful Battersea Park
sweltering under the July sun.
Organised by Pantipa Tirrell of
Thai-UK Trust and Singha Beer visitors were welcomed to a day of
food, fun and festivities. Supported by several companies including
Raimon Land, Thai Airways and Singha themselves, visitors tried food
from such top restaurants as Chaopraya, Krung Tap, Sala Thai, Tawana,
and Thai Smile whilst enjoying liquid refreshment from the two Singha
tents and wine suppliers Monsoon Valley.
The day started off with a Thai
Monk procession and a speech by H.E. Mr Kitti Wasinondh, The Royal
Thai Ambassador. The stage area was popular with fashion shows,
Mythical animal dancer, puppet shows and even the fascinating
fingernail dance.
The annual event continues to
mark the growth of the Thai food and drink sector in UK and the
growing commercial cooperation between Thailand and UK. |
