Recent weeks have seen the results come in from 3 of the big UK wine
competitions: International Wine Challenge (IWC), Decanter World Wine
Awards (DWWA) and Sommelier Wine Awards (SWA). The latest
announcement of the IWC Trophies added 9 Trophies to Chile's success
so far in 2010.
Chile's top awards across the competitions went to a broad range of
grape varieties showing Chile's immense versatility at all levels
including Trophy standard, but the star players for Chile's top end
continue to be Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Pinot Noir and Carmenère.
The Sommelier Wine Awards also showed Chile's ability to step into
the on trade arena with 13 Gold awards given, including all 3 of the
3 Gold awards for "New World Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon",
and 2 out of 3 New World Pinot Noir Gold Awards given.
To taste some of these world class wines for yourself, please join us
at our Annual Trade Tasting on the 8th September 2010 where we will
have a Focus Tasting Table showing as many of our 2010 Gold and
Trophy wines as we can gather.
