The scores
are in - Mid Beds District Council has published more scores on the
doors for food sellers across the county.
Earlier this
year the council launched the scheme to transfer hygiene inspections
in to a star rating - with five being excellent and no stars at all
being a cause for concern. This is a similar system to that adopted
by other councils throughout Britain.
Two stars
marks a satisfactory standard of hygiene and anyone who receives at
least one star gets a certificate to display.
Among those
receiving a zero star mark (poor hygiene standards) were The Viceroy
in Sun Street, Biggleswade - which was recently named one of the
country's top 100 curry houses in the British Curry Awards. Raj
Bengal, Peking Diner and The Spice all received 2 out of 5 which is
rated as 'satisfactory'.
The scores are
available for viewing on the district council's website at www.midbeds.gov.uk.
