Restaurant Chains Sold For £267m

THE owner of more than 160 restaurants under the Cafe Rouge and Bella Italia brands has been sold in a deal worth for £267 million.

Tragus has been bought by private equity firm Blackstone while the restaurant company's management team - led by chief executive Graham Turner - have also taken a significant stake in the business.

Under its previous owners, Legal & General Ventures, Tragus developed Bella Italia into a chain of 67 sites, while it enjoyed strong like-for-like growth at Cafe Rouge.
