Deportation For Restaurant Pair

Two Bangladeshi men were arrested at a Yeovil restaurant by immigration officers cracking down on illegal working according to local press reports.

A team from the Border and Immigration Agency surrounded Akash Tandoori on Middle Street recently and sealed off the exits. After checking the documents of staff, officers arrested two men, one aged in his 20s and another in his 40s.

A spokesman said the pair would now be removed from the UK. The restaurant owner received a warning over employing illegal workers and could face prosecution or future visits by immigration officers.

Jane Farleigh, of the agency said: "We will not tolerate illegal working. That's why the Border and Immigration Agency is investing more money in enforcement and forging ever-closer links with the police."
