An
Offally Good Traditional Burns Night Supper
|
|
On Friday January 25th Chef
& Brewer will be celebrating the life and work of Scottish poet
Robbie Burns with a ritual of traditional food drink and poetry.
Highlights of this special five course supper include Chicken Livers
with a creamy Whisky sauce, Haggis, Neeps & Tatties, Wild
Scottish Venison Steak with Rumbeldethumps and Chocolate & Whisky Tart.
The night will focus on
delivering the best quality food and drink sourced from local British
produce. Chef & Brewer pubs will also offer a full collection of
Classic Malts for toasts throughout the evening. The Classic Malts
Whisky menu is a quality feature specifically chosen for great food pairings.
The Burns' Supper was started by
friends of Burns, a few years after his death in 1796, as a tribute
to his memory, but it has also become a celebration of Scottishness,
and Scottish ancestry. Wherever you are, and however Scottish you
are, you can join in with Chef & Brewer quality menu for the
supper and a selection of the great man's poems and songs.
Kevin Harpur Director of Group
Catering said, "We have always placed huge emphasis on
sourcing and using the very best foodstuffs and drinks from Scotland,
and have spent a great deal of time in forging strong relationships
with specialist suppliers."
Helen McIntyre, manager of the
Burnbrae in Glasgow, said: "Our customers already seem to
recognise and enjoy the local produce on our menu and it is for this
reason that we continually strive for excellence in this area.
Bringing authentic Scotland to life up and down the country for Burns
Night is a real achievement for Chef & Brewer. Myself and my team
are really proud and excited about the menu. Tartan, Whiskey and Auld
Lang Syne and a good night out with friends is a real tribute to
'Rabbie' Burns."
There are 133 Chef & Brewer

managed house division of Punch Taverns, the UK's largest pub
operator with 8,400 leased, tenanted and managed pubs.
