Turmeric
Gold Picks Up Fourth Award In One Month
Multi-award winning restaurant
Turmeric Gold is proving to be a real jewel in the dining crown after
adding another two accolades to its fast-growing collection. |

The family-run restaurant,
situated in Spon Street, in the heart of Coventry's medieval quarters
and in Main Street Meriden, picked up two awards at the Coventry and
Warwickshire Food and Drink Awards dinner, an exclusive ceremony held
at the Belfry Hotel in North Warwickshire on November 20.
The restaurant, owned by Jay Alam
and his family, picked up the award for the Best Ethnic Restaurant
and a second one for Excellence in Quality Customer Service.
Turmeric Gold beat off stiff
competition from other restaurants considered the cream of the crop
in the region to win the awards.
Organisers of the Coventry and
Warwickshire Food and Drink Awards look for quality, excellence and
the innovative use of local produce when selecting their winners.
Jay said he was delighted to add
another two awards to his collection.
He said: "To be voted the
Best Ethnic Restaurant and to receive an award for Excellence in
Quality Customer Service is a testament to the hard work and
dedication of my staff, and to the loyalty of our customers.
"These are our third and
fourth awards in two months and they show we are not ones to be
complacent or to rest on our laurels.
"We continually strive to
give our customers the ultimate, not just in terms of delicious food,
but the whole experience."
Last month Turmeric Gold was
named among Britain's top 100 Indian restaurants at the British Curry
Awards, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London's Park Lane. It
was also named as a finalist for the West Midlands region in the same event.
But Jay is no stranger to
success. Since it opened in 2001 Turmeric Gold has been voted the
Best Restaurant in Coventry and Warwickshire by Coventry Telegraph readers.
It is also a previous winner of
the Coventry and Warwickshire Food and Drink Awards' Best Ethnic
Experience category and has also won accolades in Coventry and
Warwickshire's own Godiva Awards.
