The Quality Of Rice Is Not Strained

Apuro's rice cookers are essential equipment for
Chinese New Year menus

Chinese New Year signals an upsurge in interest in Chinese food. It is an excellent opportunity for pubs, restaurants and contract caterers to promote special themed Chinese menus. As rice is a basic requirement not just for Chinese restaurants, but for all good Chinese cooking, demand for it is going to be doubled, trebled or even quadrupled during this period. So it pays to be prepared for the rush.

Apuro , a distributor for some of the biggest brands in the UK hospitality market, supplies commercial rice cookers that are quick and economical to use, give perfect results at the flick of a switch and take the strain out of cooking large quantities of rice. The largest rice cooker in the range can produce 28 portions of rice in only 12 minutes, enough to keep up with even the busiest of serving periods.

The rice cookers are extremely simple to operate - just measure the rice and add water. There's no need to stir or strain, the cooker is fully automatic. A one-touch cook and hold facility ensures that the rice remains at a safe temperature and retains its quality throughout the serving time. The non-stick removable cooking bowl means easy cleaning and less wastage and a bottom and side heating system ensures the rice is cooked evenly throughout the bowl.

There are three models in the range: two 1300 Watt, 4.2-litre models in either stainless steel (SJ420S) or black enamel (SJ420E), and a 1500 Watt, 5-litre model in black enamel (SJ500E). Prices are £145, £165 and £175 excluding VAT respectively and all have a full one-year parts and labour warranty. A spatula and measuring bowl are supplied as standard.

Finally - what is 2008? Well, it's the Year of the Rat - and Rats are actually nicer than they sound. They are charming, passionate, charismatic, practical and hardworking and include Gwyneth Paltrow, Samuel L Jackson, Mozart, Prince Charles and that greatest of British bards William Shakespeare.

Apuro is a division of the Cranham Group plc and is an ISO 9001:2000 accredited company. For more information on the company's range of products contact Apuro on 0121 744 0968 or visit www.apuro.co.uk
