Kensington's
favourite five star hotel, the Royal Garden, is currently undergoing
a substantial refurbishment which is set to transform the top three
floors of this legendary hotel. The Royal Garden is a firm favourite
with the sports and arts world, being the official host for the FIFA
World Cup in 1966 and more recently hosting the heroic England Rugby
team prior to leaving for France.
May 2008 will
see the eagerly anticipated London launch of Min Jiang restaurant on
the tenth floor of the hotel. Inspired by the internationally
acclaimed Min Jiang at The Goodwood Park, The Royal Garden's sister
hotel in Singapore, the new restaurant will bring a truly unique
contemporary Asian dining concept to London.
This is part
of the multi-million pound re-design of the top three floors of the
park facing wing of The Royal Garden Hotel, including the Royal,
Penthouse and Goodwood Suites, a selection of Park Suites and a
number of its deluxe park facing bedrooms. Works will commence in
January 2008.
Prior to its
complete re-design and refurbishment in January, The Tenth Restaurant
and Bar will be available to hire for exclusive events and private
functions. Throughout the refurbishing period, the Park Terrace
Restaurant will offer flexible dining designed for all tastes and
needs. The Park Terrace overlooks Kensington Gardens and will
introduce later this month, a new and exciting menu created by
Executive Head Chef, Steve Munkley, which emphasises the provenance
of its British produce and complements the extensive wine list.
Graham
Bamford, General Manager for the hotel comments, 'This is the most
significant refurbishment the Royal Garden has undergone since it
re-opened
in 1996. We are very excited about the plans and I would like to
personally thank all our guests for their patience and understanding
throughout this exciting period. Maintaining five star standards in a
hotel undergoing refurbishment is a challenge but we are confident to
keep over-achieving expectations thanks to our renowned hospitality
and flexibility'.
