Enam
Ali, founder of The British Curry Awards, received an award himself
in the New Year's Honours 2009 with an MBE for services to the Indian
and Bangladeshi Restaurant Industry.
The popular
owner of Le Raj in Epsom and prominent figure in the Bangladeshi
community was aid to be "thrilled and highly delighted"
with the award which he considers a great honour and complete surprise.
Enam was
recently announced as "Personality of the Year" on
profiling website www.resthof.co.uk
(Restaurant Hall of Fame) beating almost 500 other restaurateurs. He
also acted as a judge for National Curry Week and one of his fellow
judges, Cyrus Todiwala MBE of Café Spice Namaste, has just
added to his list of awards and recognitions by adding DL (Deputy
Lieutenant) to his titles.
