Rumours are sweeping through the Indian restaurant sector of Bangladeshi restaurateurs intending to de-list Carlsberg in retaliation for the printing of the infamous cartoons in Denmark that has so upset Muslims all over the world.

A spokesman on behalf of Carlsberg UK said, "We are very sad to hear that anyone chooses to stop drinking Carlsberg on account of the Cartoons. We at Carlsberg have always had the deepest respect for other religions and beliefs, for which reason we have always striven to conduct our business in a proper and considerate manner. This we have been practising for the 100 years and more that we have been doing business outside Denmark. We recognize that we as a company in a global world have a responsibility that reaches beyond that of one national context".

"We have representatives in Bangladesh, who will do their very best to communicate this position to all of our distributors, in order for us to make it clear that we respect individuals, and their right to believe in anything they want".

Carlsberg was the first lager style beer to appear in restaurants in Britain and particularly in the Indian sub-continent sector when it was introduced to Veeraswamy in London in 1927.
