Restaurant Fined Over Cockroaches The owners of a Chinese restaurant in Southgate have been fined £2,000 after food inspectors found it crawling with cockroaches. Michael Ng and Yen Lin Li, of Chan's Garden Chinese restaurant, in Ashfield Parade, admitted breaching food safety regulations when they appeared before Enfield Magistrates on February 2. Officers from Enfield Council closed the restaurant when the infestation was discovered and a pest control team fumigated the premises. Inspectors had earlier installed cockroach-monitoring stations when they found the restaurant to be in a filthy condition when they visited last year.
