Conran Restaurants has announced the August 2006 opening of Customs House, a selection of bars, restaurants and food stores at a prime waterfront location in Copenhagen, Denmark.

A joint venture with leading Danish property company, Centreplan, this is the first Conran Restaurants development in Denmark and involves the refurbishment of a 13,000 sq. ft. 19th century former customs office building located opposite Copenhagen's new Opera House in Holmen. The completed site will house an Italian restaurant, a bar and grill, a Japanese restaurant, several small shops including a deli, bakery and florist, private dining and banqueting space and a large area of outdoor seating offering spectacular views across the harbour.

David Loewi, Managing Director of Conran Restaurants said: "This is a hugely exciting project for us in a wonderful waterfront location which has many similarities to our restaurants and shops in Butlers Wharf in London. Copenhagen is a sophisticated city, synonymous with elegant and beautiful design. We hope that the Danish will enjoy what we have to offer."

Designers and architects Conran & Partners are managing the interior and graphic design.
