Locale
Restaurant and Cocktail lounge will launch in County Hall on the 1st
April 2007, just moments from the London Eye and Waterloo station.
With branches
in Blackheath and Fulham, Locale prides itself on serving delicious
authentic Italian dishes using real Italian recipes that have been
passed down for generations.
The spacious
restaurant area is ideal for all diners, from couples to families,
solo diners to groups. Designed by Design Lsm, the restaurant has an
open kitchen at its centre, with comfortable leather booth seating
and individual artwork on the walls.
Italian
ingredients are used wherever possible, including flour, eggs and
olive oil to ensure guests get a true taste of Italy. The freshly
prepared bread, pizzas and pasta are served alongside dishes of
market fresh meat, fish and vegetables from the open kitchen.
For starters,
customers can order Mozzarella di bufala alla parmigiana (Baked
buffalo mozzarella with aubergine fritters, tomato dressing and
parmesan cheese), £6.25 or Baccala'Mantacato con Crostini
(Traditional Venetian Creamy Cod with Croutons), £5.95.
Pasta dishes
include Linguine ai frutti di mare (Seafood linguine with fresh
tomato, clams, mussels, calamari, baby octopus and king prawns),
£12.95, Lasagne tradizionale (Traditional lasagne), £8.95.
Traditional Neapolitan pizza is available with a variety of toppings
from just £6.95.
Braciola di
manzo alla griglia con patate alle erbe (12 oz aged Scotch ribeye on
the bone with herb roast potatoes), £15.95, Filetto di branzino
all'acquapazza (Grilled seabass fillet with braised fennel),
£13.95 are just two of the tasty options in the carne and pesce section.
With the close
proximity to the London Eye, Locale is a popular location for
tourists, who can book packages for a flight and a meal, enjoying the
best London has to offer. Adults can choose two or three courses from
a set menu priced £16.50 or £22.95, including a glass of
house wine or bottle of beer and coffee or tea when they book their
package. Children are not forgotten with a soft drink, spaghetti
Bolognese or margarita pizza and ice cream for £5.75. Both set
menus also include service charge.
The restaurant
also has a beautiful cocktail lounge area for up to 50 people. The
fresh fruit cocktails are perfect for relaxing with after work drinks
or celebrating a special event. Customers can enjoy also stuzzichini
- small Italian dishes that are perfect to accompany both the
cocktails and delicious wines on offer. The wine list focuses on
Italian labels and is priced from £11.95 by the bottle. Happy
hour is between 5 and 7 pm Monday to Friday when cocktails are half price.
A terrace
space for forty guests is perfect for alfresco dining. Diners can
gaze on the architectural splendour of County Hall whilst enjoying a
terrific meal.
