Acclaimed
chef Manoj Vasikar of Indian Zing has opened Indian Zest with
partner Bhanu Pratap by the river in picturesque Sunbury on Thames.
Zezt caters for around 110 and
covers two floors divided into a number of dining rooms. The cottage
style building lends itself to hints of the Raj and this element has
been highlighted with opulent fabrics, antique furniture and wooden
panelling. You can try the Colonial Room, The Regal Room or even the
Polo Suite.
Manoj will divide his time
between Hammersmith and Sunbury with both menus featuring his
signature dishes such as Lobster Balcho and Vegetable Bhanavla.
As it is likely to be a
destination restaurant for the many affluent areas around Sunbury the
car park alongside the restaurant is a particularly important feature.
It was hard to really assess Zest
during the buzz of an opening but first impressions suggest it might
well be something special.
