New Menu Marks
First Birthday For
Jesmond Restaurant

One of Newcastle's most unique eateries is celebrating its first year in business with the launch of a new menu.

CafeAntipasto, which marked its official birthday at the end of 2008, will be serving an extended menu from Monday February 9th, offering diners a much wider selection than ever before.

CafeAntipasto will now be serving a new choice of larger dishes including nine different varieties of pizza, pasta . For those fancying something a little simpler a wide range of salads, sandwiches, and wraps will also be available throughout the day and night, with a variety of breakfasts and light bites being served up until 4.30pm.

The most notable additions to the new menu are the "Burger" and "Comfort Food" sections, specifically designed to offer greater value for money. These include chilli burger, Italian burger, traditional fish and chips, sausage and mash, chilli con carne and mussels served either with chips or with chips and chilli.

As part of the new offering the Jesmond restaurant has also revamped its distinctive Piattini range, for those who love to share, introducing a assortment of small plates that can be ordered as part of a larger selection or as an individual starter preceding a main course.

This range now includes a variety of meat and fish options like Gamberoni Pastella (lightly battered tempura king prawns with chilli jam) and a variation of vegetarian dishes like Arancini (risotto balls filled with porcini mushrooms and peas with a tomato sauce).

In light of the credit crunch, CafeAntipasto's owners Aquaclear Leisure Ltd, are also offering a selection of money saving deals on the new menu, including a £5 lunchtime special from 12 until 5pm everyday, a two course special from midday until 7pm Monday to Thursday and a daily happy hour on pizza and pasta from 5pm until 7pm.

Dan Humphries, Group Marketing Manager for Aquaclear Leisure Ltd which owns CafeAntipasto, said: "CafeAntipasto has been a part of Jesmond for just over a year now. We've built up a good base of loyal customers and with the economy the way it is we wanted to take this opportunity to re-energise our menus and expand our food offerings to suit a variety of tastes and budgets. We hope that our new dishes will surprise people and ensure there is something different to try every time they visit."
