Chilli Heads Call On People Power To Save Relish

People power has won a stay of execution for a head-blowing chilli relish that customers around the world are fighting to save from the axe.

Chutney makers have agreed to produce another 1,000 jars to gauge demand while they decide the future of the Hot Chilli Relish that one customer said could seriously harm her marriage if she failed to find new supplies!

Another desperate call came from fans on the other side of the world in New Zealand, while devastated chilli addicts from Germany confessed they "went nuts" for the hot, spicy relish in their diet.

Chilli heads have been stockpiling supplies of the relish since hearing it was to be discontinued. Customers are buying 36 jars at a time in the hope of reversing the decision to axe the popular relish.

A spokesman for the English Provender Company, which makes top-end chutneys, condiments and sauces, said insufficient demand from retailers was behind its decision to take Hot Chilli Relish off the menu.

"We think it is unique and absolutely delicious and are gutted for our customers that they can no longer buy this relish. Hopefully people power will result in a change of mind. In the meantime, we have produced another 1,000 jars which will go on sale on our online shop, englishprovender.com/shop-online, on a first come, first served basis."
