Italian Wine Exports To US Set To Break US$1bn

Italian wine exports to the US this year are expected to break US$1bn, according to a recent forecast.

The Italian Foreign Trade Institute ICE said yesterday (19 December) that exports for the first 10 months of this year reached US$894.2m.

The country held a 29.1% share of the US wine market in the period, ICE said, against 28.6% for France.

In October, Italian farmers' union Coldiretti claimed that Italian wine exports to the US rose by 16.2% year-on-year between January and August.
