A £1
MILLION revamp of a former village pub is set to create 20 jobs.
Peterborough
businessman Zillur Hussain is hoping the Royal Fusion Indian and Thai
restaurant in Uffington, near Stamford - formerly the Gainsborough
Lady - will become one of the top restaurants and conference venues
in the country.
Mr Hussain
(29) already owns several restaurants, including the Royal Spice in
Peterborough, but with Royal Fusion he hopes to attract the more
discerning diner looking for something a little different.
The
centrepiece of the new development will be a 120-seater restaurant
serving a fusion of Thai and Indian cuisine.
Mr Hussain
said: "First and foremost I have tried to create an exclusive
dining environment for people looking for something a little extra
when they go out to eat.
"Royal
Fusion will be one of only two restaurants in the country offering
Thai and Indian mixed dishes - all cooked by a chef I personally
selected on a recent trip back to India.
"My
vision is to provide the very best of everything - locally grown
produce cooked by the most talented chefs in their field.
"I hope
to turn Royal Fusion into one of Britain's top 10 restaurants in five years."
The new
development also features lounge and cocktail bars, a garden room for
a-la-carte, open-air barbecues in the summer and two conference rooms.
Mr Hussain
said: "I anticipate that as many as 20 new jobs will be created
in the restaurant, bars and the conference room."
The restaurant
opens in the first week of February, when a series of charity events
are planned.
