Slow grilling or fast food - Rational makes an ideal system

Slow grilling or fast food - Rational makes an ideal system

A conventional grill, whether electric, gas or charcoal, takes up all the attention of a chef, so that he doesn't miss exactly the right moment for turning the food to give, for example, perfectly cooked steaks.

The SelfCooking Center from Rational can make a huge difference to this - both by reducing the attention needed for cooking and by cooking many different types of item at once. Not only can it grill to perfection - for instance, steaks, spare ribs or seafood - but it can prepare baked potatoes, French fries or vegetables and other items at once. It can also take the place of many other cooking appliances, such as grills and deep-fat fryers.

To use the SelfCooking Center as a grill, place the raw (or even frozen) food on the CombiGrill accessory grids, press a button to tell the unit what type of food is being grilled, the level of browning (from light to dark) and how well done you want it (rare to well done). That's it.

A single SelfCooking Center can cook perfectly up to 108 steaks or fish fillets, automatically, without overseeing or turning the food. The CombiGrill adds the attractive grilling 'grid' pattern, even on vegetables. The system allows the kitchen to respond flexibly and quickly to demand, and also helps with planning the number of staff needed.

The Rational SelfCooking Center is available in six different sizes, and all can be purchased as electric or gas models. The gas versions are becoming increasingly popular at grilling situations, and are ideal where a reliable electricity supply isn't available, particularly for alfresco situations - for example in open-air cafés or hotels with summer verandas.
