On
December 6th 2007 well know restaurateur and caterer Sanjay Anand
collected his well deserved MBE from HM The Queen for services to the
hospitality industry.
Close friend Keith Vaz MP ensured
the event did not go unnoticed by organising a special celebratory
event in the Members Dining Room of the House of Commons on 24th
January to acknowledge the award in front of family and friends and
representatives of both the Indian and British governments.
The evening was one of great
celebration and no few disclosures by family about the great man
himself and his climb to fame from a somewhat fragile child, to the
17 year old that started his restaurant career, to the man we see today.
After the reception guests moved
to the Riverside Hotel just across the Thames to enjoy a Madhu's
dinner and party the night away.
