Two
of Glasgow's most popular Italian restaurants - Paperino's and
Paperino's West End - are bringing a touch of magic to young diners
with the introduction of a range of four fruit-flavoured healthy
drinks. The restaurants are the first in Scotland to offer the
additive-free soft drinks from new Glasgow-based firm Magic Fruit Potions.
Now
young diners at Paperino's can choose from a selection of orange
(orange and peach), pink (strawberry and rosehip), purple
(blackcurrant and apple) and crimson (cherry) 'potion' flavours
containing no artificial colours, preservatives or flavourings.
Mark
Billington, managing director at Paperino's, said, "Paperino's
has always been popular with families and has always sought to cater
for the tastes of our young customers. As such, we're delighted to be
the first restaurants in Scotland able to offer our young diners such
a refreshing, delicious and nutritious range of soft drinks to
complement their meals."
Catherine
Walker, founder of Magic Fruit Potions, said, "I'm thrilled
that Paperino's have become the first restaurants in Scotland to
offer our drinks to customers and know that, whilst the kids can
enjoy their drinks, their parents can rest assured that their
children are consuming additive free drinks without any artificial
colours, preservatives or flavourings."
Offering
an intimate and relaxed environment with an emphasis on traditional
Italian cuisine in a neighbourhood setting at 227 Byres Road,
Paperino's West End combines an extensive range of pasta, pizza and
meat and fish dishes with a takeaway service along with early morning
coffee and pastries. In addition, a specially created children's menu
is available throughout opening hours of this popular family restaurant.
Paperino's
West End is the sister restaurant to Paperino's, which opened at 283
Sauchiehall Street in 1991 and quickly established itself as an
institution to Glasgow diners.
Having
given birth prematurely to her son, who needed a healthy diet to
build up his strength, Catherine Walker, a former nutritional
therapist, established Magic Fruit Potions to fill the gap in the
market for food and drink without additives, artificial colours and flavourings.
