Two of
Tilda's Steamed Basmati, Ready to Heat, variants now feature the Good
Housekeeping Institute's (GHI) accreditation stamp. Tilda Pilau
Steamed Basmati and Tilda Egg Fried Steamed Basmati Rice have been
tasted and preferred to the leading brands' comparative recipes. The
prestigious endorsement will now feature on-pack. Tilda Chickpea,
Yoghurt and Mint has also been GHI approved.
Hundreds of brands from various
categories apply for GHI accreditation every year, but not all of
them pass the stringent tests set by the GHI's team of expert
researchers. Tilda is currently the only food product to have
received GHI's accreditation.
Jonathan Calland, Head of
External Affairs at Tilda, says: "We are delighted that the
GHI has approved two of our Ready to Heat products. We invest a
significant amount of time and effort to ensure that we create
delicious, easy-to-cook products that are of the highest quality. We
only use the best Basmati and the finest natural ingredients, so it
is immensely satisfying to be awarded this mark of distinction from
the internationally renowned Good Housekeeping Institute. What's
more, Tilda now proudly dominates the entire food category of GHI
Approved products. With so many other excellent products out there,
this really is an honour and singles out Tilda Steamed Basmati as the
extremely high quality product it is."
Another mark of Tilda's high
quality is the 'Grains of Truth' stamp that is now featured on the
new Tilda dry rice packaging. Every batch of Tilda Pure Basmati is
DNA tested guaranteeing that only the finest, Pure Basmati reaches
the consumer.
The GHI Accreditation Scheme
launched in 2000 which gave brands a chance to prove the superiority
of their products. The GHI looks out for three specific areas when
assessing products: performance (appearance, aroma, texture and
flavour); ease of use (ease of opening and serving product) and
design (overall design of product and packaging). The benefits of the
GHI stamp of approval include creating a point of difference in a
crowded market place, as well as offering a symbol of heritage and
quality which is unrivalled by other endorsements.
GHI Approved products are
entitled to print the GHI logo on their packaging for one year after
approval. When testing products, the Institute takes into
consideration the needs of potential consumers. The GHI Approved
stamp is a well-recognised sign of quality; 75% of people are aware
of the GHI, and 90% are more likely to try or buy an item with GHI accreditation.
There are currently 17 Tilda
Steamed Basmati variants on the market, four of which were launched
earlier this year. They include Butternut Squash Steamed Brown
Basmati Rice, Mushroom and White Wine Steamed Brown Basmati Rice,
Coconut and Lime Leaf Steamed Basmati Rice and Oriental Stir Fry
Steamed Basmati Rice.
Tilda Steamed Basmati variants
are stocked in all major supermarkets, including Sainsbury's, Tesco,
Waitrose and Asda and have a RSP of £1.69.
