On Tuesday
13th June six simultaneous regional finals took place around the UK
to determine the winner for each region. These six will now go
forward to the national final to be held on Friday 3rd November at
Leeds Thomas Danby, West Yorkshire.
Following this
second and final "cook-off" the 2006 UK SACC National
Winner will be announced at a glittering black tie charity dinner and
dance that same evening.
We are
delighted to announce the following winners from the six colleges.
Standards were exceptionally high throughout all regions and the
judges were most impressed with all those who participated:

Each of these
winners received a crystal trophy, a framed certificate and automatic
entry into the November Final, where full hotel and gala dinner
expenses will be paid. The ultimate national winner will receive
another trophy, £1,000 cash, media exposure and many
opportunities to demonstrate his or her craft skills at prestigious
events in the UK and Europe.
The business
or organisation represented by the winner will also be awarded a
valuable prize and will also receive maximum on-going media exposure.
The
competition has a charitable basis; all excess income over
expenditure will be donated to a number of nominated charities,
including Hospitality Action Industry Benevolent Organisation. In
2005 £7,000 was given to that particular charity from the total
funds raised.
