Thali Extends Patak's Offering to the Food Trade -
Patak's, the
authentic Indian food company, is launching a frozen thali for the
food service channel to offer an authentic Indian eating experience
to the catering trade.
Thali is a
traditional Indian multi-dish meal originating from Gujurat. A Thali
can consist of a number of meat dishes and wet or dry vegetable
dishes centred around a small mound of rice. This is mainly
accompanied by bread, a paneer (Indian cheese) dish, a dhal, a
yoghurt dish and a pickle or chutney to create a complete and
balanced Indian meal.
Patak's new
Thali offering is available in meat and vegetarian varieties. Each
Thali comprises of 1x250g curry dish (Chicken Makhani or Vegetable
Peshwari), 1x150g dhal, 1x150g vegetable accompaniment such as Aloo
Gobi or Bombay Potatoes, a mini Naan Bread and a generous 200g
portion of Pilau Rice.
Patak's Thali
is ideal for caterers looking to offer customers a traditional Indian
meal with the added benefit of simple and effective complete portion
control. By offering both a meat and vegetarian option, Patak's is
also providing a convenient and authentic Indian meal set to appeal
to all consumers, and drive increased profits for caterers.
Patak's Group
Director - Foodsolutions, Peter Fitzpatrick, said: "Patak's rich
heritage and expertise in developing authentic Indian food for the
catering trade has allowed us to add another product to our extensive
portfolio. The foodservice industry is always demanding innovative
new products and Patak's new Thali range is just one example of us as
a supplier setting out to best meet the needs of our customers".
