Tusker A Real Treat At Rugby Sevens

The Rugby Sevens at Twickenham this year saw a slice of Kenya coming to the UK. Kenya Exile UK organised a weekend of exultation with the support of Tusker, East Africa's no 1 premium lager. The weekend is to help raise much needed funds for Kenyan rugby. Kenya's Rugby 7's team visited to entertain the UK fans and "wananchi" at Twickenham for the Emirates Airline London 7s.

An enthusiastic Kenyan audience was thrilled to see their team making it to the finals of the main cup for the first time, as well as beating the 1999 Rugby World Cup holders, Australia. Such a sterling performance has rocketed Kenya's team to 9th position in the world ranking.

Keeping to all things Kenyan, Tusker lager was enjoyed by some 1300 supporters for the after game party. The north stand at Twickenham was also decked out with Tusker banners, promotional material and Tusker shirts, making it the most flamboyant stand in the history of the event.

As well as using the Rugby 7's to promote awareness of Kenyan Rugby, Kenya Exile also hosted a Tusker after-game party to raise money for the UK based Kenyan Rugby Club that would like to participate in the 2007 Tusker Safari 7's Tournament. The after party at the Twilight Night Club saw the first ever Tusker Bar in the UK, with great guest appearance DJ's to get the crowd going, including top Kenyan Artists Pili Pili and Juacali as well as a host of top DJ's: Dubwise, Doc, Viagra, Clem, Collo, Mr. Bigz and Gasper to name but a few. Rugby, beer and song was definitely a recipe for a great time to be had by all.

Peter Karsten, Marketing Director of Surfax, which distributes Tusker in the UK said: "This event was enormous fun for everyone involved and we certainly like to see both Tusker and Kenyan rugby going down well with the fans."
