On Wednesday 8th August consumers will be invited to gather for a unique food and wine event at Café Spice Namasté, London. The evening themed as a 'Keralan South Indian Food Festival' will include a specially prepared four course meal with traditional Keralan dishes, teamed with wines from around the world, and for an added twist&ldots; ingredients found from within the M25!

The object of the evening is to absorb guests in local traditions and customs and to show how diverse South Indian food can be using ingredients accessible to British people.

The menu will include all manner of Eastern delights which Cyrus, known for his extravagant use of spice, will be creating dishes using ingredients sourced only in the UK, within the London area. Cyrus comments: "Britain has a superb selection of ingredients available, and on this evening we look forward to opening people's eyes to the opportunity and diversity South Indian food, British ingredients and wines from around the globe can offer".

Charismatically guiding their guests through each of the four courses will be Cyrus Todiwala and Matthew Harrison of Balls Brothers, who will be passing on their top tips for matching, creating and of course tasting!

Tickets to this event can be purchased through Café Spice Namasté at £49 per head for 4 courses including wine.

The event is being organised in partnership with India Now: A festival of India in London organised by the Mayor of London Travel company 'Off the beaten track' which organises tailor-made tours to south India / Kerala will have staff dressed in traditional costume and will be adorning the entrance to the restaurant with items from the region. Upon entering guests will be lightly showered with rose water (a traditional greeting) and guided through a stunning array of candles, traditional floor markings, lamps and flowers which really set the scene for an evening amassed with culture.

The Mayor said: "India is not only one of the world's most important and rapidly growing economies, an emerging economic superpower, but it also has one of the world's most important cultures. In 2007, we are aiming to strengthen London's relations with India, building on the significant contribution that the Indian community - the largest minority national group in London - already makes to the economic, cultural and social success of the capital. With the arrival of more Indian companies, India's cultural impact on London is going to increase further. India Now will be an opportunity to experience the richness of Indian culture and will underline the relationship London has with India. "
