Maharaja Benfleet Indian Cuisine goes for Tiffin Cup

The superb Maharaja Indian Restaurant on London Road, Benfleet, with support from local MP Bob Spink, has won through the tough final rounds to win a place at the the finals of the Tiffin Cup 2007 Restaurant Competition Tuesday 17th July. The competition will choose the best South Asian restaurant in Britain.

Bob Spink MP said: "I am delighted the Maharaja has won through to the finals. Any one who has eaten there knows how special the staff, food and surroundings are. Each restaurant had a gruelling programme to follow, including an anonymous visit from secret customers who helped make the final decision. We are spoilt for choice with at least six superb Indian restaurants in Castle Point. But to win through to the final requires something very special and the Maharaja certainly has it."

Last year's competition was judged by Ainsley Harriot as well as other celebrity chefs. This year the competition will be judged by Jamie Oliver amongst others.

Mr Siraj Ali CEO of the Maharaja Restaurant said: "We are delighted to have been chosen to represent Essex and the East of England in the Tiffin Club 2007 Restaurant Awards. At the Maharaja we like to make each and every customer feel like royalty, surrounding them with opulent beauty, a sumptuous atmosphere, exquisite tasting royal cuisine and not forgetting a dedication to service to make everyone feel like a Maharaja."
