- Peri-Peri sauces are an effective decongestant

- Try Nando's Peri-Peri hot pot recipe

With miserable weather comes miserable colds and us Brits unfortunately tend to suffer health wise each winter from our chilly climes.

However, whether the attack of the sniffles has just descended or you're at the sofa, duvet and cough syrup stage, why not try a more unusual and much more enjoyable cold remedy this year - Nando's Peri-Peri sauce.

Chilli has been used as a traditional remedy for colds, aches and pains for hundreds of years and, with three times more Vitamin C than oranges gram for gram, chillies can help the body's drive to restore itself to normal health.

As Peri-Peri sauces contain chilli and are rich in both Vitamin C and A, as well as combating colds, they also have proven nutritional benefits such as being an effective decongestant, blood thinner and digestion aid.

Peri-Peri sauces also contain no artificial colours or preservatives so you can rest assured your cold remedy is natural and 'nasty-free'.

So, before you catch a nasty bug or to nip your cold in the bud, try adding Peri-Peri to your food - whether it's your beans on toast in the morning, sandwich at lunchtime or lasagne at night - anything goes!

One of Nando's favourite winter warmer recipes is Peri-Peri hot pot a - great way to get your five a day!
