Manchester to host first
northern curry awards

Chefs, restaurants, takeaways and even curry lovers are set to be recognisesd in the first ever North West curry awards.

Following the success of the Scottish Curry Awards held in March, Oceanic Consulting are proud to announce the launch of The Curry Awards North - making its debut in Manchester on the 28th October at the Hilton Hotel in Deansgate.

The ceremony will celebrate the humble curry - honouring the men and women who strive for perfection in the industry; from front of house to the kitchen, to those who have dedicated a lifetime to the dish.

Nominations are due to open for the following categories:

* Curry Lover of the Year Award, which celebrates the North of England's biggest curry fiend, an individual that is a genuine fruit loop for curry!

* Team of the Year Award which recognises and rewards the commitment and dedication of the restaurant's entourage who provide a service where excellence is standard.

* Chef of the Year Award, which honours the chef who's culinary delights have tantalised, titillated and bewitched the Scottish public's taste buds

* Take Away of the Year Award, which recognises and heartily commends those who's gastronomic delights grace the dinning tables, the living rooms and the laps in the North of England's homes.

* Lifetime Achievement Award, which commemorates a life time of work and dedication to the curry industry - an individual who's actions have furthered and developed the industry.

* Restaurant of the Year Award, which honours the restaurant which serves up the finest curry cuisine and atmosphere in the North of England.

* Curry King or Queen 2008 Award which hails the dawn of an individual who has engrossed themselves in the curry industry and successfully emerged at the forefront of the industry in the North of England.

Nominations will be open this month and forms are available online at www.iY curry.info.
