Lovers
of vindaloos, bhajis and poppadoms in the North West are being asked
to prove their mettle in an epic 24 Hour Curry Challenge passing
through 5 towns including Liverpool and Manchester.
The search is
on for bhuna fanatics with extra strong stomachs to set the world
record for the most curry restaurants visited in a day and raise
money for Oxfam.
Two
simultaneous record attempts organised by
XXX Mints will kick off in August, one
in the North West and another in the Midlands. Over 24 hours two
challengers will go head to head in an attempt to visit at least 60
curry houses, using only public transport, through 5 separate towns
and cities before their time is up.
The gauntlet
has been thrown down and it's now up to two people (aged 18 and over)
to step forward and face the challenge of eating curry for breakfast,
lunch and dinner for a whole day and night.
Said
marketing manager of Fox's Confectionery, Jon Dixon: "If you
can face a vindaloo without reaching for water then you might just be
able to handle this challenge. In setting the world record for a
marathon curry crawl the winner can look forward to a winner's
welcome down at their local, add to that raising money for Oxfam and
it makes the adventure really worthwhile."
To nominate
yourselves or a curry loving friend send a name, full contact
information including daytime telephone number and a photograph to canyouhandlethem@connectpoint.co.uk.
