Hipster Cook
Says RIP KFC

 

 

In 2007 35-year-old New Yorker Dante Lorenzo Gonzales ditched his day job to fly around the world, fry chicken (and other Creole soul food delicacies), host a subterranean cooking show and throw speak easy dinner parties whilst M.I.A, TV on the Radio and Santogold provided musical entertainment.

The Dante Fried Chicken (DFC) brand's tagline is "KFC R.I.P", its host a charismatic gastronomic anthropologist of what must be the world's first hipster cooking club and party. "The way we culturally interact with each other is changing. I believe that food is the one thing that can unify all cultures - cross culture education of art, music and fashion."

Dante has spent the last year traveling around the world creating creole soul food, hosted a mediterranean cooking show and throwing hipster speakeasy dinner parties with M.I.A Santigold and TVOTR providing the musical entertainment and lives by the motto RIP KFC!

 

CARIBBEAN RED BULL RUSSIAN

Ingredients:
Fresh ginger juice
Red Bull Cola
1 ripe banana
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup honey
4 tablespoons brown sugar
1 can of rich, creamy coconut milk
2 shots of Rum, Bourbon or Whiskey

Method:

1. In a blender puree banana, coconut milk, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, until creamy. Add a little water if too thick!

2. Measure desired amount of spirits (i use 2 shots) on ice in a rocks glass fill half way with Red Bull Cola. Fill remainder with coconut milk puree, add i shot fresh ginger juice, stir, and serve with shaved coconut and a pineapple slice as garnish.
