Just
six months after opening, King's Road eatery sushinho has been
awarded its first AA Rosette.
Given in
recognition of 'culinary excellence', this coveted trophy
acknowledges sushinho's unique contribution to the London eating
scene.
Inspired by two
very different cultures, sushinho has succeeding in blending
Brazilian chic with Japanese practicality and efficiency.
It is a little
known fact that there are more people of Japanese descent in Brazil
than anywhere in the world outside of Japan itself. sushinho
showcases the edible offspring of this successful cultural marriage
with a menu that features such exotic fare as Slow Cooked Pork Belly
with Feijoada Bean Puree and Chilli Mango and Hiramasa King Fish
Carpaccio, Pineapple and Vanilla Vinaigrette. |
In keeping with
this culinary theme of harmonious integration, sushinho has eschewed
conveyor belts and minimalism in favour of interiors infused with
warm, colourful tones all enlivened with a funky Brazilian beat.
Says sushinho's
owner Oliver Girardet: "My aim all along has been to breathe
new life into London's sushi scene by combining a dynamic culinary
offering with welcoming and stimulating surroundings. This award
clearly demonstrates that all our hard work over the last few months
has paid off".
