La Parmigiana, Glasgow's finest restaurant for classic Italian
cuisine, has become the first restaurant in Scotland to offer diners
a selection of fresh pastas made in-house.
The longest established Italian restaurant in Glasgow that remains
under the ownership of the family that founded it, the multi-award
winning La Parmigiana has introduced fresh pasta prepared on the
premises in order to distinguish it even further from less formal pizzerias.
Proprietor Sandro Giovanazzi said, "As every gastronome knows,
there's really nothing quite like the taste and texture of fresh
pasta. Having led the way in classic Italian cuisine in Scotland for
several decades, we're delighted that demand for freshly made pasta
from our customers is now such that all our pastas are made in-house."
Amongst the fresh pasta dishes customers will find on the menu at La
Parmigiana are: Strozzapreti alla Genovese al Forno con Pane da Pizza
(strozzapreti pasta, with its own pesto, served with green beans and
potatoes and oven baked in pizza dough); Farfalle alla Salsiccia
(maltagliati pasta with Italian sausage, basil and cherry tomatoes);
Gnocchi di Patate al Pomodoro e Basilico (potato gnocchi with sun
dried tomatoes and fresh basil) and Pappardelle Nere allo Scoglio
(black pappardelle pasta with seafood).
La Parmigiana has been the only Italian restaurant in Scotland to be
included in the AA Restaurant Guide, The Michelin Restaurant Guide
and the Good Food Guide. It has won The Best Italian Restaurant Award
at the Scottish Restaurant Awards and has been named as one of only
seven Italian restaurants and three pizza restaurants across the UK
to have won Gold Awards by the Pizza Pasta & Italian Food
Association (PAPA) in recognition of its exceptional standards |
