A Taste of Southern India comes to South London this Summer

Located in the picture-perfect suburb of Hampton Court, Cocum is the ninth exceptional venue to launch from London's largest Southern Indian restaurant group - the Kerala Group. As the first restaurant in the area to specialise in Keralan cooking, Cocum launched in June on the stylish, boutique filled Bridge Road for discerning gourmands looking for a more intense Indian dining experience. Here, authenticity and quality underpin the ethos behind Cocum. It's a place that prides itself on capturing the aromas and fragrances so intrinsic to Kerala - India's biggest spice state.

Small enough to encourage a sense of intimacy, the 54-seated venue features a tasteful, bright interior that's carefully understated to allow the vibrant flavours and sensations of each dish to take centre stage - whether it's for a healthy set meal lunch* or intimate evening dinner.

Dishes are best described as celebratory; a true testament to the produce-rich state from which they originate. Divided into sections, the menu offers a wide selection of classic vegetable diishes from 'Kerala's backyard' including a traditional Keralan feast dish called Mango Pulissery (£4.25). Here, crushed ripe mango, green banana, garlic and ginger combine with cumin for an exciting sweet and spicy palate cleanser, while a signature aubergine thiyal (£4.25) offers a creamier alternative that's balanced with zesty homemade spices. Heading away from the land, local fishes dominate on a menu inspired by the Keralan coastline. Kingfish sautéed with green chilli (£7.50) awakens the taste buds, and a heavenly Allepy Meen (£7.50) delights with carefully balanced spices, tender fish and the comforting creaminess of coconut - a central ingredient in so much Southern Indian cooking. Beautiful, robust tandoori prawns (£11.95) also pack a welcome punch, presented under a sizzling blanket of freshly grilled green spices straight from the tandoor.

As with all restaurants in Kerala Group's portfolio, each dish from Cocum's menu is executed with only the finest ingredients and premium spices involved, as well as a dedication to health, lightness and seasonality - an Ayurvedic concept that promotes wellness through 'pure' foods. Cocum therefore offers a wonderful alternative to heavier, more robust Indian cooking, and is the perfect place to celebrate an Indian summer - without leaving the capital.

*For a limited time only, Cocum will feature a 'Celebrate The Summer' lunchtime special:

3 vegetarian dishes £6.95

3 Non-vegetarian dishes £7.95

3 Seafood dishes for £8.95

For over 25 years, Kerala Group has brought UK patrons a quality experience of authentic south Indian cooking that captures the flavours and aromas of India's number one spice state. Light, healthy and delicious, the group prides itself on consistency, quality and a low price point - for five star dishes that are notoriously great value. Featuring some nine spacious restaurants across the country - including the acclaimed Ragam in London's Fitzrovia and Cocum in Cambridge - each venue works to provide the most authentic experience possible, for food "without frontiers".
