Organics is owned and run by Alex Allison who supplies the
hospitality and catering trade with organic beef, lamb, pork and
chicken. Following great demand for his organic meat, Allison
expanded his market from trade to the general consumer enabling his
organic meat to be bought directly from the farm via internet mail

Consumers from
across the UK are now able to enjoy organic beef and lamb directly
from Allison's farm in Biggar in the Scottish Borders where it is
aged, expertly butchered and vacuum packed to ensure freshness and
hygiene to ensure a tasty and tender meal. The pork, processed by
Blackmount Organics, is sourced from a farm in Perthshire and chicken
supplies are sourced from Peebles. All the meat and poultry is
traceable from fork back to field and it is all organic. Their fast
next day, iced delivery service now means that organic customers from
across the country can try the Scottish Borders very own finest
Organic Meats.
As an organic
producer, Blackmount's own meats are produced with minimum use of
agrochemicals, which helps minimise damage to the environment and
surrounding wildlife. Blackmount tries to work with the environment
rather than against it, and gives careful attention to animal welfare
considerations. Routine use of antibiotics on animals, for example,
is prohibited.

Organics have also recently announced their range of new organic
products, introducing Organic Chicken Bites, Organic Bacon Lardons
and Coulter Bacon to their existing variety of Organic produce.
Blackmount Organic Chicken Bites are just what parents and children
have been waiting for. Whole, healthy, organic chicken pieces dipped
in organic egg and rolled in organic breadcrumbs. They are oven
cooked and packed in 400g packs, to serve them simply heat in the
oven for 20 minutes at 180 degrees or until warmed through. The
Organic Bacon Lardons are small cubes of thick cut Organic bacon,
great for cooking and ideal for making Quiche Lorraine, salads,
flavouring soups and stirring into lentils. Blackmount's Coulter
Bacon, is economy bacon with all the taste of its more illustrious
compatriots.
