Rémy
Martin "On Air & On Ice" At The Cannes Film Festival
|
 |
Rémy
Martin, France's premier Cognac brand and Official Sponsor of the
Cannes Film Festival, teamed up with celebrity haunt Nikki Beach from
17th - 28th May to bring the iconic soda syphon back into the
limelight and back into fashion.
Rémy
Martin's partner in Cannes (located on the infamous Croisette in
front of the Carlton Hotel), was again the bar and nightclub of
choice for the many stars, celebrities, film company executives and
jetsetters as they descended on Cannes for this year's festival.
Penelope Cruz, Pedro Almodevar, Nick Nolte, Liz Hurley,
Beyoncé, Jamie Foxx, Val Kilmer, Lenny Kravitz, Robbie
Williams were just a few of the stars. |
The Rémy
Martin Soda Syphon and its "Air & Ice" signature
cognac longdrinks were centre stage at all the exclusive events
taking place at Nikki Beach. With sales of cognac rising for the
seventh consecutive year (source www.bnic.fr)
and its fashion status at an all time high, Rémy Martin is
revisiting a time honoured classic linked to a key moment in the
brand's own history.
Patented in
1837 by the Parisian company Savarese, the soda syphon (or vase
syphoïde as it was known) had its heyday in the early twentieth
century. Painted by Picasso, Boccioni, Gris and even Salvador Dali
during this golden era, it was an symbol of sophistication. It was
also at this time that Rémy Martin began to truly make its
mark on the international stage and launched its VSOP as a Fine
Champagne cognac. Consumers of the time (and for decades afterwards)
drank Rémy Martin VSOP with a slpash of soda water as a
"Fine à l'Eau", the bar call was 'une Fine, s'il
vous plaît".
In the
cocktail world consumers are currently revisiting the Classics, the
drinks that were created to enhance the spirits' natural qualities
rather than masking them. The Fine à l'Eau is one of France's
classic cocktails. To help reveal the aromatic qualities at the heart
of cognac, Rémy Martin has taken a modern approach using green
tea and ginger ale to accentuate its cognac's qualities. The
Rémy Martin Soda Syphon brings not only a sense of theatre to
the occasion, but a new texture and a new taste experience. |
