The innovative concept of Malaysian food in a quick service
environment is much anticipated and sure to rock London's quick eat
dining scene. JOM Makan boasts a prime location adjacent to the
National Gallery on Pall Mall East.
JOM Makan was officially opened
by the Honourable Dato' Sri Mohd. Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, the
Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia. The opening event was attended by
officials from the Malaysian Government, Asian media and local businesses.
In conjunction with the Malaysian
government's Malaysia Kitchen programme, JOM Makan London is the
first in a worldwide franchise scheme (JOM Malaysia) designed to
spread the passion for Malaysian cuisine around the world and
encourage inbound tourism. Malaysian food takes its influence from
the countries rich multicultural heritage and highlights of Malay,
Chinese, Indian, Nyonya, Portuguese and Borneo flavours are all
present in this unique cuisine.
The United Kingdom is one of
Malaysia's top 10 tourist generating markets and as such is an
obvious choice for the flagship of the JOM Malaysia franchise.
Further expansion plans are scheduled for the Middle East and Europe
and it is anticipated these developments will be well under way by
the end of the year.
